- A 2 indicates a handheld transmitter (e.g., ULXD2). Handheld transmitters are always sold with a microphone capsule attached (e.g., ULXD2/SM58). The available capsules vary by series.
- A 3 indicates a plug-on transmitter (e.g., UR3).
- A 4 indicates a receiver (e.g., ULXD4).
- A 5 indicates a portable receiver (e.g., UR5).
- A 6 indicates either a boundary mic (e.g., ULXD6) or a guitar pedal receiver (e.g., GLXD6).
